I added "poor" to "Services to the Homeless" to make it a somewhat broader topic, because the Hunger, Homelessness, and Poverty Task Force lumps them together, and because it seemed like the best place for the Poor People's Policy.

I added the sub-category "Storytelling" to the "Programs for Children" category.

I rearranged the categories in the "Programming" category so that subjects relating to the various age ranges are grouped together in descending order (Adults, Young Adults, Children).

I'm at an ALA program on Rural, Native, and Tribal Libraries, and people have been talking about the need for more gathering places for information on these services. I just added the catagory to the wiki and will add more information soon!

Staff Training Category

What do we think about creating a Staff Training category? Now, it is a subcategory of the Services for Specific People category. Being a staff trainer, I obviously looked for that first. I thought for a while that the category did not exist until I stumbled upon it.

Does Technology Training need to be under Staff Training or is that category aimed at public training? I guess then the main header could be Staff Training instead of Training. We consider Technology Training for the public to be a Program. Others may see it differently, though. Sorry if I'm being too picky.

This wiki will be a great resource. I have already begun spreading the word to our staff. Right now many people in our system depend on listservs to share information with other libraries. People end up deleting or filing emails away in some place they could never find them when they need them. Now, you don't have to worry because a wonderful reference system is already in place. . .I could go on and on. Anyway. Good job.--Kevindixon 10:53, 30 March 2006 (EST)

Hello, i wonder a little bit about the licence. A wiki, in my eyes, can't use a CC-BY-NC-ND Licence, because every edit is a derivate. So everytime i did a edit i hit the licence. Also everything in here is not compatible with wikipedia or other free content. So please, get more open, more interoperable. (hmm sounds a little bit like please get 2.0 ;-) ) --PatrickD 03:32, 17 October 2006 (EDT)

You should switch to GFDL and/or CC-BY-SA. ND is useless in a Wiki and ND hinders sharing (see this article) -- Jakob 05:03, 17 October 2006 (EDT)

Adding Categories

I've started categorized the uncategorized categories and pages so allow more hierarchical navigation. I created some new categories such as books, libraires, librarianship since none of the current categories covered the topics in the uncategorized pages. I just looked at your front and realized you were using the existing categories as you directory system. So, before I continue categorizing the remainder of the articles, I wanted to make sure that the categories I've created was fine with you.--Cdrocan 01:52, 30 October 2007 (EDT)

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I am currently away at a conference, but will take a look at what you did as soon as I return. While I created the wiki, it's not "mine" so you should feel free to improve upon the organizational scheme as you'd like. It's a community effort. :)

Adding Your Name

In the front page it says "Note: If you are going to add to the list of recommended vendors or software, please put your name on your recommendation so we know that it's not from a vendor. From here on in, we will have to delete any new vendor/software recommendations that do not have the author identified." I started to list some OPAC layers on the OPAC page. But they aren't exactly "recommendations"... just a link to the resource. Do I have to put my name on it? Jimmy

I think listing vendors is fine -- saying "this vendor is awesome" is another story. :) Meredith 16:50, 11 June 2009 (EDT)
