Hi! I created this wiki. I am the Distance Learning Librarian at Norwich University in Vermont.

I am the author of the blog Information Wants To Be Free and write the monthly "Technology in Practice" column for American Libraries. In March 2006, I was named a Mover and Shaker by Library Journal pretty much for just playing with technology. ;)

Last year I wrote a book called Social Software in Libraries: Building Collaboration, Communication and Community Online. It's been published by Information Today Books. It was a really amazing experience writing 100,000 words on one topic. Though I basically had to give up having a life for 7 months, it was worth it.

I am interested in services to distance learners, social software, virtual reference services, information literacy, web design, the usability of library middleware, open source software, and online tutorials (screencasting).

Thanks for visiting and for being a part of this wiki!
