Keren Mills is a qualified librarian who has been involved in service development and innovation for the Open University Library Services since 2004. A notable achievement was the creation of the Digilab, an informal space for hands-on exploration of educational technologies which was open to all OU staff. Her current role is a mixture of project work and day to day management of the library website with a particular focus on improving the quality of the site through supporting content editors and undertaking usability testing. Much of her project work has focussed on the development of mobile library services, including the MACON project in 2012. Usability and user experience have also become a major focus and recent work has included researching student requirements for library personalisation tools in 2013.
