There are several advantages to having a stated policy:

•It is available to all in the same form.

•It can be referred to, so that anyone who wishes to can check the policy.

•It can be readily disseminated to all who are affected by it.

•It can be taught to new employees easily.

•It forces managers to think more sharply about the policy as it is being written, thus achieving further clarity.

•It ensure that everyone will be treated substantially the same way under a given a condition.
