Multi-Lingual Access
From Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki
Quick wins in terms of supporting multi-lingual access in the library:
- A multi-lingual collection is very costly and at best could contain a handful of languages.
- Multi-lingual computer access is a much more reasonable objective for libraries, especially given that there are computing solutions for libraries that include full support for multiple languages out of the box.
When you approach the task of preparing web pages or a portion of a website in another language, consider the resources provided by the W3C on the topic of Internationalization; the Getting Started pages are helpful.
